The vast majority of residents living in Palm Beach County’s unincorporated areas will see their annual trash bills drop on Oct. 1 as a result of five new waste collection contracts approved by county commissioners on Wednesday.
The county commission, sitting as the governing board of the Solid Waste Authority, denied a bid protest filed by Waste Pro of Florida, Inc. and instead awarded the contracts to four other trash haulers.
