After months of bitter opposition and accusations from activists groups claiming such things as Marxist conspiracies and Islamification of school curriculum, the state has released dozens of proposed changes to the controversial Common Core State Standards aimed at responding to the public’s comments and concerns.
Not surprisingly, the 98 changes proposed by the State Department of Education did little to calm the furor of the South Florida parents, including several Palm Beach County activists, who have spent months fighting the standards.
