West Palm Beach commissioners this week officially extinguished a plan to as much as triple the city’s fire assessment fee.
In July, with the city facing a budget gap of as much as $8.5 million, city Finance Director Jeff Green had proposed tripling the fire assessment fee, including increasing the residential fee from $25 to $85.
