As Republican Gov. Rick Scott began running nearly $2 million worth of TV ads attacking Democrat Charlie Crist for supporting the federal health care law, Crist responded Thursday with a smaller purchase of Internet-only ads ripping Scott and defending the Affordable Care Act.
The lopsided exchange of 30-second messages underscored two key points about the 2014 Florida governor’s race: the belief by both Scott and Crist that Obamacare can be a winning issue and the big financial advantage Scott holds as he tries to overcome weak polling numbers and internal campaign turmoil.
