Palm Beach County to seek more stadium help from lawmakers; could be ‘heavy lift’

Palm Beach County commissioners Tuesday said they’ll need more help from state legislators before they can build a new two-team baseball stadium to help preserve spring training on Florida’s east coast.

That could be a “heavy lift” just a year after the Legislature passed a bill making $50 million in state money available for new spring training facilities, the county’s legislative affairs director, Todd Bonlarron, said. “But it’s something that I think if you have the right group of people pushing it on board, it’s possible.’’
