Republican lawmakers should be forced to testify about whether backroom huddling with consultants and a flurry of email were part of an illegal effort to keep the GOP in command of Florida, the Supreme Court was told Monday.
Talbot “Sandy” D’Alemberte, attorney for the League of Women Voters of Florida, disputed the claim by lawmakers that “legislative privilege” shields them from testifying in lawsuits challenging the state’s new congressional and state Senate maps.
