To give young adults with criminal records a second chance, the Urban League of Palm Beach County has received a $780,000 federal grant that will help 100 people ages 18 to 24 get jobs.
The nonprofit was was one of 10 Urban League chapters in the country to receive a grant, and the money will go toward young adults in the 33407 zip code of West Palm Beach. That zip code, in the north end of West Palm, has the highest poverty and crime rate in the city. It’s also the No. 2 zip code in the county for youth offenders, behind Riviera Beach.
