Gov. Rick Scott renewed his push for eliminating Florida’s 6 percent sales tax on manufacturing equipment Tuesday, urging business and local government representatives to call legislators and urge them to support the tax break.
“It makes no sense to have this tax,” Scott told about 100 people who gathered in the warehouse at Baron Sign Manufacturing. He said eliminating the tax would make Florida more competitive with other states in trying to attract manufacturing businesses.
