Teachers may not have to wait until June 2014 to get performance-based raises included in the state budget, according to Senate President Don Gaetz.
Gov. Rick Scott had wanted $2,500 across-the-board pay raises for teachers. House and Senate budget leaders this weekend agreed to $480 million for merit-based raises, and they included a provision that would have delayed the pay raise until next year.
