Former U.S. Rep. Ron Klein of Boca Raton will play a key role in the Florida Democratic Party’s attempt to reorganize itself and beef up fundraising for what will likely be a costly effort to topple Republican Gov. Rick Scott in 2014.
New Florida Democratic Chairwoman Allison Tant named Klein last week to lead a revamped board of trustees for the party. Tant, a fundraiser for President Barack Obama, was elected party chair last month with strong backing from elected Dems after she pledged to tap into the Obama donor network for the state party.
