Federal cuts will force air traffic control towers at the Boca Raton Airport and Martin County’s Witham Field to close next month, airport officials said Friday after learning their efforts to fight the move failed.
Boca Raton Airport Authority officials said they were disappointed the Federal Aviation Administration rejected their pleas to keep the facility off a list of dozens of tower closings nationwide. They scheduled an emergency meeting for Thursday to discuss ways to keep the facility opened.
