Florida Atlantic University has seen a reduction of roughly $700,000 in National Institutes of Health grants because of automatic federal spending cuts this year, a school official said Friday during a visit by U.S. Reps. Ted Deutch, D-Boca Raton, and Lois Frankel, D-West Palm Beach.
Deutch and Frankel highlighted NIH cuts and renewed their calls for a “balanced” approach to deficit reduction that includes tax hikes that Republicans oppose.
