While the field of potential Republican challengers remains amorphous, freshman Rep. Patrick Murphy, D-Jupiter, has already banked more than $1 million for his 2014 re-election effort.
Murphy’s campaign says its second-quarter Federal Election Commission report, due next week, will show more than $520,000 raised between April 1 and June 30 and more than $1 million in cash on hand for what is expected to be one of the nation’s costliest House races.
