County officials have responded with a shrug to an Inspector General’s report that faulted a department head for steering a contract to run a job fair to a friend.
Inspector General Sheryl Steckler’s office found last month that Palm Beach County Community Services Director Channell Wilkins bypassed the county’s purchasing rules to hand a $118,446 contract to a nonprofit run by his friend.
