Although members of the House of Representatives are getting paid despite the government shutdown, U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy won’t be.
The freshman Democrat from Jupiter has decided to donate his paycheck during the shutdown to the Renewal Coalition, a non-profit organization in Tequesta that provides all-expense-paid retreats to injured service members who have endured lengthy stays at hospitals and rehabilitation centers, and to their families and caregivers.
