A sit-in at the Florida Capitol ended Thursday on its 31st day, with organizers saying their push to repeal the state’s “stand your ground’ law will now turn toward community organizing and voter registration drives.
The advocacy group, the Dream Defenders, began the sit-in July 16, sparked by George Zimmerman’s acquittal in the shooting death of teenager Trayvon Martin in Central Florida.
