Former U.S. Rep. Allen West accused student protesters of harassing his wife, a Florida Atlantic University Board of Trustees member, and warned them in a Facebook post Wednesday to stop or “you will face me, the side of me that you do not want to see.”
The Stop Owlcatraz Coalition, a group formed to protest the FAU trustees’ approval of a $6 million stadium-naming deal, fired back with a statement accusing West of threatening students. The group called on the university to bar the former Republican congressman from all of FAU’s campuses.
