The Florida Senate postponed a final vote today on a bill to uncap rates for new Citizens insurance customers as lawmakers and Gov. Rick Scott absorb protests that it could raise the cost of living in South Florida sharply and hurt the housing market.
Senate insurance committee chairman David Simmons, R-Altamonte Springs, said afterward that he has more than 20 votes, but he’s trying to build up his majority.
