An appeals court this week denied Palm Beach County Inspector General Sheryl Steckler’s request that it force the county, its cities, and Clerk and Comptroller Sharon Bock to fund her office.
Fifteen of the county’s 38 cities and towns sued the county in 2011, arguing against a requirement that each locality pay a fee to help cover Steckler’s budget. Wellington later dropped out of the suit.
