Regarding “Sheriff gets $1 million for ‘intervention unit’ ”: We should be putting our money in what we’ve already got.
The Post reported that Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw is getting $1 million from the Legislature for his unit “aimed at preventing tragedies like those in Newtown, Conn., and Aurora, Colo., from occurring on his turf.” Give me a break. Knee-jerk reaction, political posturing, macho chest pounding over “turf” and adding to the budget of the sheriff’s office are more likely going on here, at the expense of people with thought disorders. This is just like something you would see from the NRA.
