I recently attended the same Palm Beach Gardens City Council meeting as the letter-writer who was dismayed over the disrespectful residents. I was not there for the stadium issue. I was there to encourage the council to make meetings available to residents by video feed. Not everyone has the time to leave their house to attend “every meeting” like the writer mentioned.
Of course, I could have stayed home and listened to the meeting on the city’s antiquated call-in phone line as former Mayor Eric Jablin suggested, but then I wouldn’t have been able to see the city manager’s body language during the stadium discussions — which reminded me of my daughter when she told me she didn’t know who stuck the chewing gum behind the washing machine.
