Murphy, D-Tequesta, to appeal for congressional action on Alzheimer’s disease, the only one of the top 10 causes of death in America that cannot be prevented, cured or even slowed.
There are more than 5 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s or a related disorder and 15.4 million Alzheimer caregivers. We are at a critical moment in the Alzheimer’s epidemic, and it is incumbent upon the nation’s leaders to ensure the promise of the country’s first-ever National Alzheimer’s Plan that was released in May 2012.
