On Tuesday, the state lost in court once again, this time in Lee County. As in Palm Beach and Broward counties, the Department of Agriculture had argued that homeowners who lost trees between the mid-1990s and 2006 don’t deserve compensation. Once again, the state doubles down on a losing legal bet.
