The Palm Beach County School Board should vote today to sell the Burt Reynolds Ranch to a homebuilder for $5 million — and expect never to see the money.
K. Hovnanian Homes wants to build 62 homes on the 153-acre site in Jupiter Farms, where the school district once planned a middle school. It’s zoned for 15 homes, which under current rules could be stretched to 30. But the county commission, which controls density on the site, would have to change development rules to allow 62.
