For the first time in 12 years, Delray Beach is trying to put the city’s interest over that of the city’s trash-hauling contractor.
At last week’s meeting, the city commission voted to seek a court ruling that could void the $65 million, eight-year extension Waste Management received last August without competitive bidding. The contract, Delray Beach’s largest, has not gone out for bid since 2001.
