Last week, in the final days of the session, the Legislature all but repealed the insidious bill passed in 2011 as part of an effort to reduce turnout among likely Democratic voters. Not only did that effort fail – President Obama won the state and Democrats picked up seats in the Legislature and the congressional delegation – the bill’s requirements contributed to long voting lines in large counties.
