As The Post’s Charles Elmore reported last week, one of the private companies seeking to take policies from Citizens Property Insurance Corp., used false numbers in letters to Citizens customers. Did the Office of Insurance Regulation catch the error? Did Citizens catch it? No, it was an insurance agent who happened to be one of those solicited.
