Palm Beach County Chief Judge Peter Blanc is making the right call to move along foreclosure cases that have been in limbo three years or longer.
Judge Blanc issued an administrative order last week requiring bank attorneys to identify the status of each case filed before July 1, 2010. The court will schedule blocks of trial time for cases that have been pending before that date. “The goal really is to get those cases that have been stagnant for so long finalized and through the system,” he said. “I don’t think there’s incentive for either side to move these cases so they’ve just been sitting there.”
