If Loxahatchee Groves residents win their fight to keep Palm Beach State College from building on the northwest corner of B Road and Southern Boulevard, the town they claim to be protecting will be the loser.
Loxahatchee Groves, which has a budget of only $3.7 million, would be on the hook for the $4.5 million PBSC paid for the 75 acre site, plus legal fees. The town also would lose the jobs and other economic benefits that come with being home to a college campus.
