Residents of the Pine Gardens North neighborhood in Jupiter weren’t particularly happy in 2001, when the town first agreed to let a developer clear trees off an 11-acre site to their southwest to build 40 zero-lot-line homes. To win approval, the developer agreed to connect the new Clocktower Hammock development to the established neighborhood with four pedestrian walkways.
The council tonight should reject a proposal to close half of those walkways. Doing so would set a bad precedent likely to lead to a request to close the other half.
