If President Barack Obama is offering entitlement reform, Republicans would be foolish to turn him down. Unfortunately, the early indication is that they will choose to be foolish.
The New York Times and Washington Post reported Friday that President Obama will release a proposed budget on Wednesday that would slow cost-of-living increases for Social Security and other federal benefits. The proposal also would cut Medicare costs by reducing payments to providers and making people with higher incomes pay higher premiums.
