Firefighters make daring chimney rescue



A 26-year-old man who said he locked his keys in the house and tried to get back in by climbing down the chimney.

He almost got there, his feet were touching the floor, according to the Fire Department's Facebook post, but the diameter of the chimney as it entered the fireplace decreased enough that he couldn't get down.

The unnamed man also couldn't' climb back up so he was trapped for about four hours. 

A neighbor luckily heard him yelling for help and called Tucson firefighters.

Crews from two stations were able to eventually pull the man out through the top of the chimney and onto the roof. He was checked out at the scene by paramedics, and while filthy with soot, appeared to be uninjured.
