Freshman U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy, a targeted Democrat in a GOP-tinted district, called the federal health care law imperfect and sympathized with a Republican caller about regulations hurting small businesses during a teleconference Thursday with constituents.
In a call that Murphy’s office said drew about 9,000 listeners, Murphy also faulted Republican leaders in the House for not scheduling votes on jobs bills or bringing up a comprehensive immigration reform bill passed by the Senate. Murphy voiced support for “common-sense” gun laws pledged to work on “every angle I can find” to clean up the St. Lucie River and Indian River Lagoon.
