Man who lied about role in fatal turnpike crash confesses to father of victim, authorities say

After a Jan. 5 crash on the Florida Turnpike in which a 23-year-old man died, William Difonzo Jr. told the other three people in the car to tell authorities that he wasn’t driving.

Difonzo lied, according to authorities, because he was driving on a suspended license and thought he would face felony charges if caught.
