When Mayor Jeri Muoio ran for office she pledged to hire an “economic czar” who would make West Palm Beach “open for business.”
But just a year after Alan Durham was lured away from Gwinnett County, Ga., as the city’s first director of economic development, Muoio announced on Tuesday that she will restructure the city’s development plan without Durham, whose role was downplayed by Muoio in a letter to residents about the city’s plans. Durham was given the office next to Muoio when he arrived.
