Ray Thompson came home from Vietnam in 1969 having lost four ribs, a kidney and his spleen among other injuries the Army radio operator sustained while serving his country.
But he never lost his passion for serving, and helped many of his fellow servicemen at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Riviera Beach. His wife, Patty, fulfilled a passion of her own Sunday, seeing her late husband’s name added to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, nearly four years after his death in 2010.
