A historic walking trail that would highlight some of the city’s historical buildings and sites near downtown recently received the financial boost city officials say was needed to complete the project by next summer.
The state’s Division of Historical Resources awarded a $18,250 matching grant last month to finish work on the Downtown Heritage Trail, a 1.5-mile route between Seacrest Boulevard and the Intracoastal Waterway that features about 30 sites including buildings, parks and landscapes.
