BOCA RATON POLICE
Someone stole $146,000 worth of jewelry from the 700 block of Golden Harbor Drive. The owner suspects either her contractors or the moving company she’d recently used.
A teenager was riding his bicycle in the 900 block of Northwest 13th Street when he was approached by another man on a bike. The man asked the teen of he could borrow his cellphone to call his mother. The teen gave him the phone and the man rode off with it. The kid chased him, but he got away and was last seen riding eastbound on Northwest 13th Street.
SIMPLE ASSAULT THREAT
In the 800 block of East Jeffery Street, a woman said that her ex-husband had threatened her in a private message via Facebook. The ex-husband lives in Europe at an unknown address.
In the 1700 block of North Military Trail, a man struck another man in the head in the defense of a woman who felt uncomfortable with the man’s aggressive flirtation and unwanted touching. There were no injuries and both victims completed refusal to prosecute forms and left the area.
A woman was arrested and charged with driving under the influence after she was discovered passed out behind the wheel of her car in front of a liquor store in the 5000 block of Town Center Circle.
Four young women were arrested and charged with trespassing after a warning and resisting arrest without violence after they locked themselves to the office doors of a business in the 600 block of Northwest 53rd Street using metal bike locks.
Someone attempted to break into a house in the 400 block of Northwest 20th Street with what appeared to be a paperclip.
BOYNTON BEACH POLICE
A man called police to say that he was pulled out of a car in the 300 block of East Boynton Beach Boulevard by a man and his two sisters and punched in the face several times. The sisters also kicked and punched him for no reason. He showed no physical signs of a fight, however, and signed a refusal to prosecute form.
CARRYING A CONCEALED FIREARM
A man was arrested because he was in possession of a firearm in plain view in a gas station in the 900 block of West Woolbright Road. He said he couldn’t leave the gun in the car, so as he walked into the station he took the gun from his waistband because his pants were too loose to hold it. Some witnesses thought he attempted to commit a robbery in the station and they described his car as a silver Toyota Camry. Officers located the car in the 1600 block of South Congress Avenue. Video and statements are being gathered from the witnesses, but they do not support a robbery charge.
POSSESSION OF NARCOTICS
In the 400 block of North Railroad, a man was arrested and charged with possession of an open container. A search revealed he also had hydromorphone, marijuana and cocaine on him, so the charge of possession of narcotics was added.
A clerk in a store in the 1700 block of North Congress Avenue sounded an alarm because a man who had been in the store for two hours finally came to the checkout counter with a coat and gave the cashier $40 in an attempt to buy it. He then showed the tip of a gun in his pocket and demanded money. Seeing the gun, the cashier backed away and then turned and ran out the front door. The robber ran out the door after her and then continued to run north through the shopping center, possibly toward a waiting car. He did leave behind the $40 with his fingerprints on it at the counter.
A white Kenmore washer and dryer worth $500 were stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Northeast 19th Avenue. The thieves smashed a back window and then opened the door in the carport. A neighbor said she had seen two men leaving the house two days before with something white on a hand truck.
A woman posed as a Comcast employee and burglarized a woman’s house after claiming that she was there to check televisions in the house. When police arrived, they found her still in the neighborhood with several pieces of jewelry in her pocket, some belonging to the woman she had just robbed. She told police that she got the Comcast shirt from her child’s father who is a contractor for the company. She was arrested and charged with burglary to an occupied residence, providing a false name to an officer, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
DELRAY BEACH POLICE
A car was found on fire in the 3800 block of North Satin Leaf Court and the cause appears to be arson since a pile of wood was found under the car.
In the 500 block of East Atlantic Avenue someone sawed off the leg of a patio chair.
A couple had an argument over who should take their child in the 600 block of North Congress Avenue. Neither parent wanted to take custody. As the mother was attempting to leave, her car struck the rear passenger tire of the father’s car.
In the 1000 block of Lowry Street, someone stole a mosaic artwork from the front of the victim’s house during the night.
