Starting with the next general election, the village council will begin taking the lead on coordinating televised candidate forums, a public service that didn’t happen in the March election because of miscommunication.
“The public should have an opportunity to listen to folks running for office,” said David Swift, the councilman who initiated the policy change after his attempt to set up a candidate forum with then Councilwoman Martha Webster failed.
