Valerie Gerold loves trees — just not the towering 30-foot oaks that were planted too close to several homes in Lantern Walk.
The reason: the roots of those trees — there are 14 of them — are causing severe damage to driveways, sprinkler systems, sewer pipes and sidewalks, a problem Gerold, the neighborhood’s homeowners association president, said will cost about $35,000 to fix. That price includes removing the trees, repairing driveways and replacing sod.
