A small bridge for pedestrians will be built on the north side of the Lighthouse Drive bridge as one of several improvements planned for the 1960 bridge that crosses the Thompson River Canal north of Lake Catherine.
The city council Tuesday will decide whether to award a $289,888 contract to Ferreira Construction Southern Division, a New Jersey company with offices in Stuart, for the bridge improvements.
