Under a new fee schedule approved by the city council Thursday, it will cost more to hire an off-duty police officer on a holiday but less to have the open space for a small development proposal reviewed by city planners.
Under the new schedule of city fees, which takes effect Oct. 1, it will cost an extra $5 an hour to hire an off-duty police officer on major holidays such as Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas and more for a summer pool pass.

Changes to the city fee schedule that take effect Oct. 1 include:
- Summer Fun pool passes (up to four people) will cost $250 for city residents and $500 for non-residents.
- Hiring an off-duty police officer will cost an extra $5 an hour on holidays such as Labor Day or Thanksgiving.
- The $25 temporary liquor license review fee for parties will be eliminated.
Review of open space in development applications will cost $50 for small site plans and $300 for large plans.
A youth recreation participant insurance fee will be offered.
