Jupiter resident Mary Ness is spending the last two weeks of July riding through the medieval forests and quaint villages of the French countryside. Every few years, the retiree takes a horseback riding trip with Equitours (www.equitours.com). She’s been to Africa, Italy and Spain, but France is her favorite destination. She goes for the scenery, the horses, the food and the hospitality. Ness especially enjoys the trip’s surprisingly affordable price tag.
“The cost of two weeks with complete board, three French meals a day, all the hotel accommodations and 13 days of riding is only $2,100,” she said. “I don’t know how they do it. That doesn’t include your flight and any expenses when you stay in Paris, but it’s still a great value.”
