A K-8 charter school with single-gender core classes is up for initial approval at Thursday’s 7 p.m. city council meeting.
Franklin Academy’s $18 million school is proposed on 10 vacant acres on the north side of Hood Road, between Florida’s Turnpike and Interstate 95. The two-story school would be U-shaped. School officials plan to open in the summer of 2014.
