The city council tabled a proposal Tuesday to exempt all publicly owned land from setting aside 25 percent of native uplands when developing the property after two council members questioned whether a blanket exemption is needed.
Councilman David Levy and Councilwoman Marcie Tinsely argued that the proposed exemption from the preservation set-aside requirement for all public land — including land owned by county, state and federal government, the school district and special districts such as the Northern Palm Beach County Improvement District — was overly broad.
