The St. Patrick’s Day parade, a fixture for 45 years, will now be taken over by a firefighters group whose leader vows to increase its family-friendly nature. Meanwhile, Mayor Cary Glickstein would like to take away the parade’s open-container privileges, which he says will lower the need for police to manage hooliganism.
