Despite winds gusting to 45 mph, heavy rains and 6-foot swells, beach erosion has been light throughout Palm Beach County during this week’s storms.
“The fact the wind was from the east saved us,” said Charles Price, Palm Beach County Ocean Rescue district supervisor. “Normally this time of year, we get the strong north or south winds. Those winds create a sweeping motion that brings the most erosion.”
