The city has taken ownership of a once privatelyowned 25-foot stretch of Bowman Street so the road can be included in a Florida Department of Transportation project to resurface Military Trail between Lake Worth Road and Southern Boulevard.
When the city’s Planning and Engineering Department became aware of the project, scheduled to start in two years, it asked FDOT to include improvements at the intersection of Bowman Street and Military Trail. Bowman Street is 20-feet wide and connects Military Trail with steep grading and a deflected sidewalk typical of an individual driveway connection, rather than that of a busy street.
