WEST PALM BEACH POLICE
A woman was walking in the 500 block of 42nd Street at 2:15 p.m. when a man drove up near her in a green compact car. He got out of the vehicle and pulled down his pants, exposing himself. He then drove off westbound on 42nd Street.
A 22-year old woman in the 5000 block of Webster Avenue told police her father hit her with a pot on her rear end and the back of her leg. The woman’s mother said there had been no assault. Police obtained written statements from both parties involved. The victim arranged to stay at her godmother’s home for the night.
An officer responded to a report of a fight in the 700 block of Malibu Bay Drive, but when he arrived, there was no activity. A woman approached him and explained that her daughter had been involved in the fight, which occurred at the school bus stop. He daughter was punched in the face and fought back, the mother said. The incident was the result of an incident that took place at school involving her daughter’s boyfriend, the mother told the officer.
An officer patrolling a hospital parking lot saw a black SUV drive over a curb and into a sign on hospital property. The officer said the impact was so strong, it lifted the concrete foundation of the sign out of the ground. As the officer approached the vehicle, the motorist drove off. Damage to the sign was $2,000.
SHERIFF’S OFFICE, LAKE WORTH
While she was showering, a woman left the front door of her residence, in the 2600 block of Sixth Avenue South, unlocked. She later noticed her purse was missing from her bedroom. In the purse was her driver license, birth certificate, a bank card and personal papers. Nothing else was disturbed.
Two nail guns, two drills, a 14-inch chop saw and a mountain bike were reported missing from a shed at a home in the 1500 block of South M Street.
Someone cut the convertible roof of a car parked in the 100 block of North Lakeside Drive. The burglar disarmed the car alarm, then removed the steering wheel from the column and cut out the dashboard gauge cluster.
Stereo equipment was stolen from a vehicle parked in a recreational area on South Golfview Road. A door lock was damaged by the burglar.
A laptop computer was stolen from a vehicle parked overnight in the 700 block of South E Street. The victim’s wallet was also stolen. It contained $900, a driver license and credit card. A window on the vehicle was smashed by the thief.
Door locks were damaged on a vehicle parked in the first block of South Ocean Boulevard between 1 and 3 p.m. The burglar was unable to gain entry to the vehicle.
A man was seen running at 6:20 a.m. from a vehicle parked in the 900 block of South Federal Highway. A window on the vehicle had been smashed. A deputy was unable to locate the owner of the damaged SUV.
Someone stole a woman’s purse when she was at a club in the 100 block of North Federal Highway.
A man told police an SUV driver speeding in the 800 block of West Garnett Street struck and killed his 3-year-old chihuahua. The motorist never slowed down or stopped, he said.
It was discovered that a guest at a motel in the 700 block of North Dixie Highway had used a fake $20 to pay for her room. When an officer and the manager went to the room, the guest was gone.
A tailgate was stolen from a truck parked in the 1100 block of South Dixie Highway. A similar theft occurred to a truck parked in a lot in the 1800 block of West Lantana Road.
A patio chair valued at $60 was removed from outside a residence in the 700 block of Scotia Drive in Hypoluxo between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. The thief left a table and a second chair behind.
Earrings valued at $2,075 were stolen from a hotel room in the 1200 block of Hypoluxo Road. The jewelry had been on a table.
A man in the 1000 block of South 14th Court told police someone stole a check from him and used it to buy $418.13 worth of items at a Boynton Beach store. He said he suspects the check was stolen by his former roommate. Police were unable to contact the woman.
A daytime burglar entered a home in the 400 block of South 11th Street through the laundry room by prying open a door. Once inside, the intruder ransacked the master bedroom. Items stolen include a television, camera, cellphone and laptop computer.
Someone broke off the passenger-side mirror on a pickup parked in the 900 block of Hypoluxo Road.
