Justin Bickford was standing in a room near where the Boy Scouts of America were about to make their groundbreaking decision to allow gay scouts in the organization.
When the decision was made Thursday at a national meeting, “there was very loud, emphatic cheering,” said Bickford, a genetics researcher at the University of Florida. “Now people are all calling their families and people they know who were impacted by this.”
